Pennsylvania will provide nearly $800 million in statewide property tax relief this year, delivering on Governor Rendell’s promise to help reduce the burden of property taxes.
Starting this year, gaming revenue will reduce annual statewide school district property tax bills by 10 percent, averaging $190 per household across the state. An estimate of the amount of property tax relief in each school district is available here.
Eligible senior citizens can benefit from both this general property tax relief and the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate program. For approximately 68,000 senior households taking advantage of both programs, school property taxes will be eliminated. Learn more
